Intergenerational Activity
The Foundation collaborates with a number of schemes across the Aireborough District offering a blend or activities which engage older participants, whilst seeking to pair them with younger people to exchange skills, whilst combatting social isolation and exclusion.
These activities (tailored to the need of individual settings) may be either immersive – such as a programme of Chair Based Exercises, delivered by one of the Foundation’ qualified Community Coaches – or reactive, where choirs from local school deliver a performance to residents of care homes or within assisted living environments.
Specialist staff also offer a programme of diversional activities, such as reminiscence sessions, singalongs or desktop/carpet-based games sessions.
