Meet the Team Behind Guiseley

Team Biographies

Andrew Brenan – Chairman

Andrew was born and bred in Leeds and moved to the Guiseley area in 1997, bringing his debt recovery business with him. He has been here ever since…

Having being involved in, and supported the football club, GAFC, for several years, when the opportunity arose to become a trustee of the foundation and promote all the great work it does in the district, Andrew was the natural choice to become part of the team,  and became Chair of the Foundation in June 2022.

Andrew states: ‘Our aim is (and has become) to expand the foundation to include other sports, classes and community assistance in many other diverse areas. The staff here do a brilliant job and backed by great admin and leadership from the Trustees, will go on to supply much more to the advancement of Aireborough and beyond’.

Steve Taylor – Foundation Manager

Steve joined Guiseley Community Foundation as Foundation Manager in 2017 with the remit of helping grow the programme of work across schools and community groups.  Having had 15 years’ experience as Community Officer at Sheffield Wednesday FC, Steve welcomed this opportunity and has since helped the Foundation grow to provide a varied programme of work that reaches individuals of all ages, abilities and needs throughout the community.

His current role involves managing all foundation projects and the general day to day operations of the Foundation.  He has forged links and partnerships with multiple outside agencies and is a Director of ALPT Trust as well as Governor at Yeadon Westfield Junior School working collaboratively together.

With over 20 years professional experience in community sport, Steve has participated in sport at grass roots level all his life – most recently playing cricket in the South Yorkshire league.  Steve is also a UEFA B licenced coach and has a range of other Sporting qualifications.

Paul Goodman, Operations Manager, Guiseley Community Foundation

Paul joined Guiseley Community Foundation in March 2022, having spent five years at the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, Headingley.

Paul has made great strides in our Foundation, instigating and delivering successful new projects, whilst making new and exciting long term contacts in our area and beyond.

Originally from Liverpool, Paul has been here long enough to be an ‘honorary’ Yorkshire lad.

He is a former President of the Yorkshire & Humberside Museums & Federation, Trustee of the Hepworth Gallery, Chair of Volunteering Bradford, and Arts Council expert photography advisor.

He is currently a Trustee of Aireborough Children’s Centre.

Alison Leigh – Office Manager

Alison joined the Foundation in February 2020.  Alison’s career began in Banking. She then followed a career in the Foster Care sector as a Supervising support worker, which took her to Bedfordshire for 10 years.

Along with the rest of the Management team she is working to ensure that the Foundation continues to go from strength to strength.
