An increasingly important and growing area of its programme, the Foundation aims to provide opportunities for children, young people, and adults through several schemes focussing on increasing participation and inspiring ambition for females
Externally-funded activity (by the Football Association) is allowing us to reach out to the communities most in need and engaging females in inclusive sessions.
Through structured sessions, delivered in schools, these interventions not only encourage fun and participation but also foster an enhanced understanding of the importance of teamwork, mutual respect, communication, confidence and self-esteem. Moreover, they benefit the development of participant’s fundamental motor and movement skills, increase their fitness levels and help combat issues, such as obesity. The sessions will also help identify talented young players who might be able to be put or fast-tracked on the pathway to a career.
All centres delivering the sessions have access to Skills Tracker, the online application for measuring and monitoring learners’ confidence in their skills throughout their courses (www.skills-tracker.com).
